The move came as Venice found itself at the centre of a growing conversation around AI privacy and private inference<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interest picked up after a public dispute between NYU mathematician Tristan Buckmaster and OpenAI over credit for a Navier-Stokes proof. Buckmaster alleged that a parallel OpenAI team may have built on his unpublished work, while OpenAI denied seeing the research but said it could not rule out de-identified data contributing to model improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversy quickly spread online and renewed attention on platforms that take a different approach to AI privacy. One of the biggest beneficiaries of that discussion was Venice, the AI platform founded by Erik Voorhees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Venice positions itself around private AI usage, with prompts kept on user devices while users access open-source models without requiring accounts or conventional content filters. Its native token, VVV, is tied directly to the platform\u2019s ecosystem: staking VVV provides API capacity, while part of Venice\u2019s revenue is used to buy and burn tokens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rally also came with strong market activity. Trading volume crossed $300 million, while Venice\u2019s market value approached $1.3 billion. The company has also reported a $100 million annualized revenue run rate in August, following a $65 million raise at a $1 billion valuation in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Derivatives activity backed up the increased interest. Aggregated open interest stood near $112 million, while funding remained positive at around 0.0062, suggesting traders were still leaning long without funding becoming excessively stretched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
