Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP)

Proof of attendance protocol (POAP) is a protocol that lets two or more parties transmit data in a secure and verifiable fashion. It utilizes smart contracts present on the Ethereum network to manage tokens that are tradable, and enables reward distribution as well as event attendance. The overall margins and profitability of the event organizers are improved using the blockchain.

This protocol came into existence in 2017 to resolve the issues pertaining to Proof of work (PoW). POAP encourages amateur as well as smaller events by letting them conduct fundraising in a simpler way. People with similar agendas and causes can come together, group their resources, and put them up as an event. This drastically reduces the costs for every person involved, providing a better way for the event organizers to organize their events without much experience.
