You can buy Palantir from India in a few minutes, starting with as little as ₹100! The fastest route is tokenized spot buying on Mudrex, where you buy PLTRB with rupees and skip the overseas account entirely.
If you want the actual US share instead, the process takes longer and runs through the RBI’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS).
This guide covers both, starting with the quicker one. If you are new to Palantir, begin with our complete guide to Palantir (PLTR) stock.
PLTRB is a tokenized version of the Nasdaq-listed share, issued by BTECH Holdings Ltd. Each token is issued against a real share held by a regulated US broker-custodian, and the backing is published daily.
What you get is price exposure and 24/7access. One must note that the US markets are closed on the weekends – however, that doesn’t matter with tokenised stocks.
What you don’t get is legal ownership of the share or voting rights.
Mudrex states this plainly in its tokenized US stocks announcement. If owning the share itself matters to you, skip ahead to the LRS section.
Sign up on the Mudrex app or website. Account creation takes a few seconds.
Mudrex is registered with FIU-IND, India’s Financial Intelligence Unit, so identity verification is mandatory. Keep your Aadhaar and PAN handy before you start.
Deposit INR using the options shown in the app. There is no currency conversion on your end and no foreign remittance involved.

Search for Palantir (PLTRB) in the Spot section under tokenized US stocks. Check the live price against the Nasdaq quote before you order, especially outside US market hours.
Enter the amount you want to invest, review the quantity and trading fee, and confirm. You can also set up a daily, weekly or monthly SIP in PLTRB from ₹100, which spreads your entry price over time.
Every trade carries a trading fee, shown before you confirm. Because you pay in rupees on an Indian platform, the LRS limit and TCS on foreign remittances don’t come into play.
Tax is where this route differs most. Tokenized stocks are treated as virtual digital assets (VDAs). Gains are taxed at a flat 30% plus cess, 1% TDS is deducted on transfers, and losses cannot be set off against other income. The Income-tax Act, 2025, in force since 1 April 2026, renumbered these provisions but kept the rules the same. Our explainer on how tokenized US stocks are backed and regulated in India covers this in more detail.
Example: You invest ₹10,000 and later sell for ₹13,000.
| Item | Calculation | Amount |
| Gain | ₹13,000 minus ₹10,000 | ₹3,000 |
| Tax at 30% | 30% of ₹3,000 | ₹900 |
| Cess at 4% | 4% of ₹900 | ₹36 |
| Total tax | ₹900 plus ₹36 | ₹936 |
| TDS deducted on sale | 1% of ₹13,000 | ₹130 (adjusted against the ₹936) |
If you want to own the share outright, you’ll go through a broker and remit money abroad.
On this route, gains on shares held longer than 24 months are taxed at 12.5%, while shorter holdings are taxed at your slab rate. You’ll also report the holding in your ITR’s foreign assets schedule. Forex conversion and wire charges apply on top of brokerage. There is a ton of paperwork to be done via this route, which can be troublesome for the reader.
You can also trade US stock receipts on NSE IX in GIFT City through an IFSC broker, funded under LRS. The list of available receipts is limited, so confirm PLTR is on it before opening an account.

A few errors show up again and again with first-time buyers.
For most first-time investors putting in small amounts or building a position through SIPs, tokenized spot is the simplest start. For larger sums held for two years or more, the lower long-term tax on actual shares can outweigh the extra paperwork.
Consider someone planning ₹5,000 a month for a year. That adds up to ₹60,000 (₹5,000 × 12), well below the ₹10 lakh TCS threshold either way. On the LRS route, though, each top-up usually means a fresh remittance with its own forex and wire charges. On Mudrex, the same plan runs as an automatic SIP in rupees.
