The TEL Token Upgrade: What Buyers Should Know
On 24 September 2026, Telcoin began a mandatory upgrade of the TEL token ahead of its Telcoin Network launch. The new token, called version 3, has a new contract address that is the same on Ethereum, Base, and Polygon, and it uses 18 decimal places instead of 2. Holders swap old TEL for new TEL at 1:1, and the swap window runs until 24 September 2027, according to Telcoin’s release notes.
Telcoin Wallet users can upgrade in a few taps. Anyone holding old TEL in another wallet or on an exchange should go through Telcoin’s official upgrade portal, announced from Telcoin’s verified account on 22 September 2026. Open it only from Telcoin’s own site or verified accounts, never from a message or an advert.
Before you move TEL into or out of any platform, check that it supports the upgraded token, because sending the wrong version can cause delays or losses.

CoinGecko shows a fully diluted value of about $180 million but no market cap for the upgraded token yet. We therefore multiplied the price by the circulating supply on our page to get the $175 million shown.
A price like ₹0.18 can feel like a bargain, but it is no signal either way. With 100 billion tokens in existence, a low unit price is normal, and market cap is the number that sizes the project.
At ₹0.1796 per TEL, a few sample budgets would get you roughly this much, before fees.

Is TEL Risky? What to Weigh Before You Buy
Against its May 2021 peak of roughly $0.065, TEL is down about 97%. CoinTribune’s latest coverage observes that milestones such as the US bank charter have not translated into a lasting price rise.
Telcoin’s plans hinge on telecom partners and live payment routes turning into real usage, and the Telcoin Network launch is still to come. The upgrade also hands holders a to-do: anyone with old TEL in their own wallet must convert it before the window closes.
Position size is the main control you have. Size any holding so that losing it would not hurt your finances.
What Buying TEL Costs, and What You Owe in Tax
At purchase, you pay one trading fee plus GST on it. Buyers with under ₹2 lakh of 30-day volume pay our base spot rate of 0.45%, which steps down through the Alpha tiers to 0.12%; the full schedule is on our fee page. Other charges only show up when you sell or withdraw.

How to Buy Telcoin in India at a Price You Choose
Traders talk about two basic order types: market orders, which fill at once at the current price, and limit orders, which wait until your chosen price appears. Our app offers both styles for Spot buys:
Want TEL right now? Choose the standard Spot buy, and your order fills at the live price, which is the market-order style.
Have a price in mind? Choose Buy The Dip, set the price you are willing to pay plus an amount, and the order triggers once the market gets there.
Already hold TEL? Stop-loss and take-profit orders sell on your behalf when the price reaches levels you set. You enter their trigger prices in INR.
To picture it: with TEL at ₹0.1796, a ₹2,000 order set to trigger at ₹0.165 executes only if the market dips that low, and otherwise never fires.
Where to Keep TEL After You Buy

People who want their own keys

Mudrex holds registration with the Financial Intelligence Unit of India (FIU), and for a small balance, many buyers simply leave TEL in their Spot holdings.
If you withdraw, the upgrade decides what you can receive. The current (version 3) contract is 0x7E13B43065380aCdeC1c2d138c579cbBbafA0731, identical on Ethereum, Base, and Polygon, and Etherscan lets you verify it. An address ending in 790F belongs to the old token. The app displays the precise withdrawal fee before you approve, and the withdrawal screen lists the available networks; choose one your wallet supports.
Before you send anything, run through this list:
Version: confirm your wallet expects the new TEL, not the old one.
Network: choose the same network on both sides.
Address: compare every character of the receiving address, since a mistaken transfer cannot be reversed.
Source: reach Telcoin’s upgrade portal only through Telcoin’s own site or verified accounts.
Keys: keep your seed phrase to yourself and leave two-factor authentication switched on.
Conclusion
In short, buying Telcoin in India is an all-rupee process: sign up, verify with PAN and Aadhaar, fund by UPI or NEFT, then order from ₹100. Treat three facts as part of the price. The token has just been upgraded; a sub-rupee price reflects its 100 billion supply rather than a bargain, and it sits far under its 2021 high.
How can I buy Telcoin in India, and where can I buy TEL with INR?
Create a Mudrex account, finish the PAN and Aadhaar check, deposit via UPI or NEFT, and pick TEL in Spot. Everything is priced in INR, so no dollars or overseas accounts are needed. Since TEL has just upgraded, make sure any platform you use supports the new token before moving coins.
What is the minimum amount needed to buy Telcoin?
₹100 is the floor on Mudrex, whether you buy once or through a SIP. Because TEL costs under a rupee, that gets you several hundred tokens at recent prices.
Do I need KYC to buy TEL in India?
Yes. A one-time check of your PAN and Aadhaar is required before any buying or selling, as with every regulated Indian exchange.
What fees apply when buying Telcoin?
Most users pay a 0.45% trading fee that falls as they move up the Alpha tiers, with 18% GST added on top of that fee. Funding through UPI or NEFT is free, and TDS of 1% is deducted only on a sale.
How do I store TEL after buying it?
Plenty of buyers just leave their TEL where it lands, in Spot holdings. If you send it to your own wallet, expect a 2% withdrawal fee (minimum $0.5) and double-check that the network and token version, new or old, suit that wallet.
Risk Disclaimer
Crypto is volatile, and you can lose all the money you put in. TEL sits far below its record price, and the recent token upgrade adds handling risk when coins move between wallets. Nothing here is financial advice, and the numbers are illustrative. Take time to do your own research (DYOR), and a qualified financial advisor can help you weigh the decision.
