Meta shares trade on the Nasdaq for six and a half hours a day, which in India means evenings and late nights. Earnings, product launches and big news often land outside that window. By the time the market reopens, the move has often already happened. That is how traders get left behind, watching a gap they could not act on.
Tokenized spot on Mudrex changes your market access, letting you buy or sell Meta exposure at any hour, including weekends.
This guide explains how round-the-clock 24/7 trading actually works, what sets the price when the US market is shut, and the rules worth following before you place an off-hours trade. Want to know all about Meta Platforms Inc? Start with our complete guide to Meta (META) stock.
Regular Nasdaq trading runs from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM US Eastern time. In India, that works out to:
| Period | US clock | India time (IST) |
| US daylight saving (March to early November) | 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM EDT | 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM |
| US standard time (early November to March) | 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST | 8:00 PM to 2:30 AM |
IST is 9.5 hours ahead of EDT and 10.5 hours ahead of EST.
If you hold actual shares through an LRS broker, you trade in that window, plus whatever extended-hours sessions your broker offers. Outside it, and on weekends and US holidays, you wait.
A tokenized stock doesn’t. On Mudrex, tokenized META trades around the clock, including weekends and both Indian and US holidays.
This is the part most people skip, and it matters.
While Nasdaq is open, the token’s price tracks the real share closely, because traders can profit from any gap between the two.
When Nasdaq is closed, there is no official share price to anchor to. The token’s price is set by the buyers and sellers of the token itself, reacting to whatever news comes out. It becomes the market’s best guess of where the stock will open.
When Nasdaq reopens, the token and the share realign. If your off-hours guess was right, you were early. If it was wrong, the price corrects.

Take Meta’s Q2 2026 results. They came out on 29 July after the US close, and the earnings call started at 4:30 PM Eastern, or 2:00 AM in India. The share fell about 9.6% in after-hours trading. A token holder in India could act on that news through the night and the next morning, rather than waiting for the next regular session.
| Situation | When it happens in India | What tokenized spot lets you do |
| Quarterly earnings | Around 2:00 AM IST, after the US close | React overnight or the next morning |
| Weekend news | Saturday and Sunday | Adjust before Monday’s US open |
| US market holidays | Full days with Nasdaq shut | Keep trading while the share is frozen |
| Indian daytime | 9 AM to 6 PM IST | Trade during work breaks, not late at night |
For many Indian investors, the last row is the real benefit. You can manage a Meta position at a sensible hour instead of staying up for the US session.
The token on Mudrex is METAB, part of the bStocks programme issued by BTECH Holdings Ltd. Each token is issued against a real share held by a regulated US broker-custodian, and the issuer publishes a daily Proof of Collateral.
Three points worth knowing:
For a deeper look at how this structure is backed and where the risks sit, our guide on whether tokenized stocks like PLTRB are safe applies to METAB too.

Because you pay in rupees on an Indian platform, there is no LRS remittance, no Form A2 and no TCS on foreign remittance.
Before you trade at 11 AM on a Saturday, look at where the actual share closed on Friday. If the token is trading well above or below it, understand why before you join in.
Outside US hours, fewer people are trading and there is no official price to anchor to. Prices can move further on less activity. Keep off-hours orders smaller than you would during the US session.
Meta reports results after the US close, which is around 2:00 AM IST during US summer. Product events such as Connect 2026, held on 23 September, also fall in Indian night-time. Plan for these moments rather than reacting half-asleep.
Weekend moves are tested when Nasdaq opens on Monday evening, India time. If the share opens far from where the token traded on Sunday, the token follows the share.
Each sale is a taxable event under India’s VDA rules: a flat 30% on gains plus cess, 1% TDS on transfers and no set-off of losses against other income. Frequent trading adds up quickly, so 24/7 access works best when you trade with a reason, not just because you can.
Example: You buy ₹20,000 of METAB and sell it for ₹22,000.
| Item | Calculation | Amount |
| Gain | ₹22,000 minus ₹20,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Tax at 30% | 30% of ₹2,000 | ₹600 |
| Cess at 4% | 4% of ₹600 | ₹24 |
| Total tax | ₹600 plus ₹24 | ₹624 |
| TDS on sale | 1% of ₹22,000 | ₹220 (adjusted against the ₹624) |
Mudrex also offers US stock perpetual futures, including METAUSDT. Both trade around the clock, but they work differently.
| METAB (spot) | METAUSDT (perps) | |
| What it is | A token backed 1:1 by a real share | A derivative contract tracking the price |
| Direction | Profit when the price rises | Go long or short |
| Leverage | None | Available |
| Main risk | Price falls | Price falls or rises against you, plus liquidation |
| Suited to | Building a position | Short-term trading |
If you’re new, start with spot trading. Perps amplify both gains and losses.
It suits you if you want to react to Meta news as it happens, invest small amounts without paperwork, or trade on your own schedule rather than the Nasdaq’s.
It may not, if you plan to hold for years. Actual shares through an LRS broker give you legal ownership, cash dividends and 12.5% long-term capital gains tax after 24 months.

Yes, through tokenized spot. METAB on Mudrex trades around the clock, including weekends and holidays.
When Nasdaq is closed, the token’s price is set by token buyers and sellers reacting to news. It realigns with the share once regular trading resumes.
The Nasdaq session runs from 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM IST during US daylight saving time, and 8:00 PM to 2:30 AM IST the rest of the year.
Not as cash. At the issuer level, the net dividend is reinvested into the token through the multiplier. Check with Mudrex support how this shows up in your balance.
No LRS remittance is involved when you buy METAB in rupees, so LRS TCS does not apply. The 1% TDS on VDA transfers does.
