Maverick AMM allows LPs to choose from four distinct modes when adding liquidity: Mode Right, Mode Left, Mode Both, and Mode Static. These modes dictate how liquidity shifts in response to price changes, with the first three allowing for dynamic adjustments and the last maintaining a static position. This flexibility enables LPs to tailor their strategies according to market conditions and their expectations of future price movements.

The core of Maverick’s innovation lies in its use of “bins,” which are the smallest available price ranges within the AMM. Each bin is defined by a lower and upper price and contains a specific amount of base and quote tokens. Adding liquidity to a bin involves minting LP tokens representing the LP’s share in that bin. This mechanism ensures that LPs can easily participate in the liquidity provision process, regardless of the bin’s state.
