XDC Network

• XDC Network is a hybrid blockchain targeting trade finance and enterprise settlement.

• It combines a public chain with permissioned features so businesses can keep commercial terms private.

• XDC is the network token.

• Used for gas, staking by masternodes and governance.

• Very large supply relative to comparable networks.

Pros:

• Trade finance is a large market with genuine documentation and settlement inefficiencies.

• Standards compliance with existing trade finance messaging formats.

• Operating since 2019 with real institutional pilots.

Cons:

• Enterprise blockchain pilots have consistently failed to convert into production volume across the entire sector.

• Trade finance digitisation depends on many parties adopting simultaneously.

• Limited developer ecosystem relative to general-purpose chains.

• Exposure to trade finance blockchain infrastructure with institutional engagement.

• The underlying market inefficiency is real and well documented.

• Weigh that enterprise blockchain has repeatedly underdelivered.

• Compliance with existing trade finance messaging standards, so it integrates with institutional systems rather than requiring them to change.

• Trade finance runs on paper documents and manual verification, creating delays and fraud exposure.

• Digitising it requires all counterparties to adopt, which is why decades of attempts have stalled.

• Founded by Ritesh Kakkad and Atul Khekade.

• Developed by XinFin with foundation governance.

• XDC was distributed through a token sale in 2018 under the XinFin name.

• Enterprise blockchain adoption has consistently disappointed.

• Trade finance digitisation requires coordinated multi-party adoption.

• Limited developer ecosystem.

• Masternode concentration affects decentralisation.
